What is the formula for a season blockbuster? Car chases - watch. Explosions - observe. Shootouts - bank check. Pretty girls - scrutinize. Loveable (read marketable) characters, menacing bad guys, honorable worthy guys - check, check, watch.
"Transformers" is a true-to-form summer blockbuster. Based on an before now successful toy and TV skit franchise, "Transformers" recreates in the big projection screen the same awe ennobling creative thinking that various of us who grew up looking at them on TV sophisticated. Aside from geeking out from the Autobots and Decepticons, one histrion stood out for his comedic scenes, John Turturro as Agent Simmons of Sector 7.
